How does this forum work?

I’ve learned a few things about this forum. I’m a newbie to this format, so I thought I’d share a few things.

Red means there are posts I haven’t read yet. The flame means it’s a popular topic. The little star on the circle means I’ve posted to this topic.

This Quick Links menu on the homepage is really handy! I can click on (red) Unread Posts and go to them immediately.

I also just learned how to put a picture in a post!

Thanks. I am a newbie also. The functions all seem cool and I hope to learn them all eventually.

My favorite feature is the notifications. Since I want to keep up with this topic, I clicked the arrow next to the little wrench under the title and then "Subscribe Topic".

Now, whenever anyone posts here, that Notifications link will have a bright red number next to it. When I click on it, it will show me all the topics with new posts, and when I click on one of them, it will take me straight to the new stuff.

Thanks, Barbara! I didn’t know that. I really like the different ways you can avoid scrolling through a zillion posts.

A big thanks to Bill Katz. This website makes resizing pictures easy! And I love his avatar.
