Solved. Enjoyable and not overly difficult mechanism. Probably a week 2 for most here. Uber-creative cluing as expected.

I only needed to Google to verify I had the song title right, although I made many educated guesses in getting through the grid.

Pretty sure I got that one. Never heard of the song, but loved lots of the modern cluing. Helps that I have teen and twenty- something kids! My 23 year old says 22A all the time - who knew it was a real thing!?

Solved, but I can’t say I fully understand the nine extra clues. I do, however, understand enough to solve it.
LOL, not solved. I had what I believe is a justifiable answer, but I have seen the intended path and there is indeed a better answer.

Solved -- and feeling like I expanded my tiny brain a little bit because I knew NONE of the singers (except for Taylor Swift), lyrics, actors, celebrities OR slang! LOL'd at the clue for 45D. I did not know that 63A happened and will have to research this. MamaEllen, is 22A something you do after over-indulging?
Good luck, fellow Muggles!

My elder offspring does use it in that fashion occasionally. But, apparently, it is any type of throwing.  ;)

Clever mechanism! I also knew none of the singers and never heard of 30A/49A. I do, however, have friends who use present-tense 22A in casual conversation.

Came to this one late, then got seriously lost in ... nothing ... until a kind Muggle nudged me by asking (more or less), “Did you read the blog post?”

D’oh!

Got it with some fun ahas from there.

Cool puzzle!

Done and dusted. Also unaware of every musical reference but the crosses were all gettable, which I appreciate. I have teenagers at home and have a general idea of 22A.

Thanks for posting this. I needed a meta since Matt delayed his. This was a fun one! (Had to look up 22A to make sure the fill was correct).

This millennial has never said 22-Across, but I think some of my Gen-Z students have often!

Still working on the puzzle - Paolo is a great cluer, hahaha.

Edit: Cracked it! Fun, clever mechanism.
