I just completed the grids. I'm not seeing meta hints -- just the puzzles' titles -- but is this part of the suite's deal? We're supposed to figure out what he's looking for without the usual hints? I'll start thinking on the metas under that assumption.

Got the answer for #2! And #1 (with a nudge). And #3 (with a nudge)

And I have #3. So this suite looks like it is fair for the solver. Time to think about the puzzles some more!

Hey, I got the answers to 1, 2, and 3, and I'm fairly confident of my answer to the meta suite.

I've submitted to Brian T.... I believe. The form was confusing me. (I'm so lame.) I'll send him a regular email too.

Very nice, Brian! That was fun!

EDIT: Brian confirmed that I'm correct on 1, 2, and 3. He accepted my seven-letter answer for the meta suite, but he said it's actually not what he intended. So I'll keep thinking about it, later today.

I have puzzles 1 and 2 solved with absolutely nothing yet. I'm seeing little coincidences, but I'm not getting anywhere with them at the moment.

I'm bumping this - I might need an outside nudge on at least the first. (Fewer leads on the second, not done with the third.) I asked Brian, and I have too many leads on Puzzle 1 and he said to explore one of them, but I'm exploring them and nothing, haha.

Wow. I've finally found my way to the final answer (pending confirmation from Brian), after previously submitting an incorrect one. The puzzles themselves were individually very satisfying (and fair!), and the suite as a whole had a great aha moment and a satisfying click. Highly recommended for others.

Glad to hear this is solvable (and the deadline is extended) because I ordinarily love Brian's puzzles but I got NOTHIN' here so far.

Check out Brian's site for the answer.

This was a VERY well-constructed meta suite. It was just a lot harder than advertised. It was like 3 Week 4s with a Week 5-ish combination step.

Most in the dark I had been since MASS IN B MINOR. But the puzzles were brilliant.

Great write up, Brian.
Definitely a week 5 IMO.
I was not in the ballpark.

I got no farther than solving the three puzzles. Would have loved an overall hint at the start that each puzzle represented a tool we should “use”. While all the extra steps to get to the final answer were pretty amazing, the step from the six letter word to seven letter word seemed like the largest hurdle. I think stopping at the six letter word would have been just as satisfying.

That said, the construction and mechanism for Chainsaw were great!
