"Pat Response": Jeffrey's Jottings, 06/15/21
This is a TERRIFIC variety cryptic meta. I recommend seeking it out. It could involve you for hours.
I must say, I don't remember how I got on Jeffrey's email list. I probably gave him a few bucks via Patreon. So I'm not sure how to direct you to Jeffrey, if you're not in his group, and if you're interested in pursuing. Can someone else here help?

Fun diversion for tonight. Challenging, then pops wide open as soon as you can start to fill the grid.
Did have to google to fully understand in the end, but got it.
And @ChrisKochmanski, yes - this is a patreon fueled puzzle/mailing list. The link is: https://www.patreon.com/jeffreysjottings
Not every puzzle is a cryptic. Typically two puzzles a month - one a meta, the other a variety or variety cryptic.
(Edit - "Not every", not "note every")

Thanks for clarifying. I'm doing so many puzzles, within a still somewhat busy, not entirely retired life, that I'm having trouble keeping track!RPardoe wrote: ↑Wed Jun 16, 2021 12:20 am

Jeffrey recently dropped the price to $1 / puzzle on patreon.
Wanted to do $0.50, but Patreon won't accept any tiers less then a buck.

Enjoyable if you have the time.
I guess I don't know the relevant British cryptic terminology, and my google foo seems not up to discovering it.
Edit: never mind, found it!

Happy to address relevant British cryptic terminology via PM (to avoid spoilers).
