Retirement- Overseas Full or Part Time

Any views on retiring overseas or spending part of the year overseas in retirement, having a second home or rental abroad vs hotel?
I‘m acutely aware of the many downsides (visas, language, bureaucracy, medical and travel costs). I‘m not referring to doing so for financial or political reasons, which is a huge other topic. I’ve just been looking at too many travel sites during the covid year and enjoyed traveling when I used to do it often.
My current thinking is to have one 2 to 3 month stay overseas in hotels during the go go years of retirement (60s). My understanding is there are go go, slo go and no go years, if you’re lucky enough to have a long life.
