I have a guess that's less of a solid lock and more of a "Yeah, this could fit." Anyone else in this situation or am I missing something?
Happy to give nudges. If you notice I've solved, please tell me about avenues you've explored so I can nudge you in the right direction and not off a cliff.

Solved. It's pretty much a sure thing -- no guessing required.

Fun puzzle by Peter. I only wish he published more metas and fewer regular crosswords.

I had a guess going in, but the actual answer is 100%.

I finally figured it out. Something that was probably meant as a hint was, for me, more of a red herring.

Oh criminy... I couldn't solve the meta at all on this one...but everyone saying it's obvious and all of the OOs had me wracking my brain, going through the alphabet... Zoo, Yoo, Woo, Voo, etc. for TV character names. The right answer stuck out at me, but I never bothered emailing in the Hail Mary. D'OH! He (he?) is even current once again thanks to the omnipresence of insurance commercials....

I'm with those who got stuck thinking that 4D, ERR for goof vs go of, was instruction rather than just an Easter egg to confirm Boo Boo.

I was wondering how this played generationally. Just seeing the title and theme answers, Boo Boo was my second thought (after Scooby Doo). I didn't know that he was lately back in a commercial and am glad to hear that those who weren't watching cartoons in the 60s still could get this.
