I disagree. This is not easy.Thurman8er wrote: ↑Thu Jan 07, 2021 9:15 pm That was easy! Ashore!
Hey, you all stay safe and stay strong, okay? The nights can be dark, but joy comes in the morning.
So you are saying that I may get the answer when I wake up?

On shore. Have no idea what letter goes at the intersection of 67A and 50D. Heading to Google to find out now.

Me and Isaac still chilling at the bar as I think through this meta.
I learned some new AP Eng vocabulary in the grid, that's for sure - that was tough.
The meta appears even more difficult.

Ashore!
I’m not very 65A at the puzzle metas with 1A in the clues, but it worked out this evening. Nicely composed.
Good health and good solving,

My solving experience exactly (minus the drink)...sharkicicles wrote: ↑Thu Jan 07, 2021 10:05 pm Really nice meta. For me it was one of those classic first-look-does-nothing, put it down, make dinner, pour a drink, and take a second look and, BOOM, get that toe-hold in. It fell quickly after that. A fun solve.
Enjoyable puzzle and worth the time. Like one or two others have commented, MMMMs just don't seem to click with me. But this one has a nice A-ha and followed a logical meta sequence.
Count me ashore, Bob!

This is the kind of puzzle that I came into all this on, and couldn't solve for weeks. So I'm thrilled to be ashore with this puzzle. I feel like I'm really starting to get on the level of the contest.

Ashore!
I started the grid last night but couldn't quite finish it. I woke up this morning, filled in the rest of the grid (google helped with some tough crosses).
I still haven't decided if it's just a tough grid or the clueing is a bit different than what I've grown accustomed to.
It was a fun meta, though! It took me almost to the point of frustration - and then it clicked.

That's how I feel with both meta puzzles and golf. "Ok...I've got this figured out. Then I play again...."

Ashore after a long hiatus from this forum. Highly enjoyable meta puzzle, particularly after last week, which was a little dull.

Before I retired, Orthodox Christmas used to be my final deadline for mailing my cards out. Julian Calendar, of course. Ура!Scott Medvetz wrote: ↑Thu Jan 07, 2021 4:29 pm Quick swim to shore. I'll finish up the egg nog in recognition of Russian Orthodox Christmas. Christos Razdajatsja!

What a horrible year for a dry January!Powers2020 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 07, 2021 10:55 pm Ashore! That was a wicked grid, but loved the meta! Dry January for me so sadly just a ginger ale!

Hanging with Isaac for the moment. Coffee, then reprint to make it legible.
