At sea. Perhaps a rum cocktail to make the Dread Pirate Parentheses reveal its secret?

I see a few "things," but I am past my 60-minute if-I-haven't-seen-it-I-am-not-gonna-see-it mark. Will keep taking a peek now and again though.

Many thanks to boharr for the nudges, very clever meta. I'm really hoping to get one on my own soon, but until then, I'm very appreciative of the help.

On shore - at last

I took a meandering route to the solution, but now that I'm on the beach I see that it works.

At least I think so. (either way I'm done looking at it)

This mechanism seemed familiar? Solid, but maybe would have been even better with an additional step -- which I spent a while looking for to be sure I wasn't being PAGEANTed.

Want to PM me about what you think the additional step should have been? I thought that once you had the mechanism the steps were pretty evident.

Dagnabit. I haven't solved in what feels like weeks. I was hopeful for a FRESH START yesterday, but then I saw the numbers in parentheses and knew I was doomed. I used to be pretty good at this but alas, I think I've been weeded out and am hopeless anymore unless we are talking week 1 or 2 caliber MGWCC metas.

Done and done on a Friday afternoon! I can seldom make that statement. I thought both the grid and the meta were a little more challenging than usual. Good luck to all Muggles in finding your way to shore.

On shore, after a few weeks of being stuck! And I'm happy to say that I think I was the first one in my group who figured out the mechanism first. Took a bit to explain to my group but it ended up being our fastest solve yet, I think.
