Congrats, Heidi!!! Hope mom (and dad) and the little guy are doing great. Our first grandchild was almost 6 years ago. It’s such a great feeling, isn’t it!? Now get busy and start spoiling him!

Where did you go? We were considering Morocco and they had a camel ride which I thought was a bit touristy so we went with Florence, Elba, Corsica and Nice however that was supposed to be in April and that did not happen.
Bob,
I spent 2 weeks in Morocco with Road Scholar. Went all over the country. The camel ride and tent camping in the Sahara was touristy, but fun! That was just one day. This spring I was going to go to Canada for a week, but the pandemic put a stop to that.
Thumbs up for camel-riding in Morocco, my (new) profile avatar was taken from said beast in said location.
Sunset and sunrise in the Sahara.

😠 Frustrated on the ship. Totally stumped and feeling stupid. Carving pumpkins now to de-stress. Maybe all will become clear in the morning. Maybe a Hopadillo.

Safely onshore though I did not find that easy. Seems to me a similar mechanism to others used by Mike recently.

Ashore. Wow did I make that harder than it was. Saw what I needed to early yesterday and ignored my intuition. Pursued way too many wascally wabbits. Bad idea. Anyway, a fun one Mike, back to week 5 for some Halloween pain!

Happy Halloween all and stay well!

Argh! Still on the ship! Maybe Halloween chocolates and an extra hour of sleep will help.

On the ship. I have a Hail Mary I can rationalize, but it is not a 100%er in my view and is almost certainly wrong. I'll keep looking and use it if I have to.

If I can't be sure, sometimes I put in something amusing. You still have more than a day left.

Gman wrote: Fri Oct 30, 2020 2:49 pm On shore. I agree with this being a KAS ~1.5 to 2, but it was definitely made easier by having seen a version of this mechanism in the past. The puzzles this week were a lot of fun, especially the hanging BATs yesterday.
Janet wrote: Fri Oct 30, 2020 11:27 am Finished the grid last night. Today I'm taking a lunch break, thought I'd work on the meta. On shore, very cute idea for halloween.
Not saying it's easy, but I recognized a mechanism I'd seen before.
I think that there should be a rule that when you say you recognize the mechanism, you have to give the date of said puzzle mechanism!

Was hoping that inspiration would strike as I sat on the front stoop and tossed candy at roving trick-or-treaters. Perhaps the cute costumes have been too distracting......

Once again enjoying all the comforts of this splendid cruise ship. Sunsets, mornings, day after day, they all are nice. Last week I was so far asea that I did not know what ocean I was on. This week I am not even sure of the planet. Funny; three weeks ago the puzzle was vivid to my eyes, with the thing almost leaping off the page. And now, absolutely nothing except a jumbled bag of scrabble tiles. Will keep plugging, and enjoy the company.

Ashore with a little help. No mug this week. Guess I haven't been doing these long enough yet as I didn't recognize the mechanism. Off for chili and an IPA! Happy Halloween!

Looking out at my bird feeders this morning and surprisingly didn't see any birds at all. I thought maybe one of the neighborhood cats was around. That is, until this guy swooped in.
