I found the confirmation for my submitted answer. Now 100% certain.

This makes me 1 for Spring. Or something like that.

Enjoyed the puzzle and meta. In the words of Yoda, “ Sure happy to be on shore I am. Hmm.”

Have a good weekend - you all take care,

Ashore after some head scratching and then realizing I knew just enough to be able to look up the rest.

Okay, I’m officially confused. If any kind muggle would offer me a lifeline (mayhaps a small hint) I officially defer any official submission.

Made it on shore! PHEW ... I was beginning to think I'd never get one of these again. 'Sequestration brain' or something like that.

Meanwhile off topic -- I know there are fans of Jason Gay's commentary on sports here. I laughed out loud at both his Earl Weaver impression and his description of it.

A good weekend to all!

Done and done. Was definitely suffering from Meta Fatigue for a while.
If I'm around, I am willing to join the Muggle Zoom room at other times to lend a hand to those in need.

Ashore & submitted. A very clever puzzle. Well done, Mike Shenk!

On shore, and submitted. Although some of the earlier comments about red herrings make me nervous, I feel my answer is 100%.

On shore! Classic Mike Shenk, where you get the inkling of an aha when you notice something and start the search. And then when you get the answer, it comes full circle with a big 100% AHA! Very enjoyable. Although I did get bitten by that prime red herring for a while.
I am listening to 60D and other Sarah McLachlan songs...seems like it would go well with some chamomile tea.

Marion and I are definitely on shore again!! She started rowing in the right direction, found the sand, hit me with the oar, and tada - I got there as well. Feels good to be relaxing and not thinking about cable news!!

Luck to all the muggles crowd........let's get one!

This is my first week submitting to the WSJCC. The grid was easy except for the top center area. The title revealed the meta mechanism fairly quickly but I didn't recognize all of the pieces. Tonight, I sat down with the puzzle again and did a little research and got the remaining pieces. On shore, 100%.

Like most, I found the grid more difficult. Nothing jumped out at me (like the Monty Python bunny) re the meta as of yet, so propping up the bar on deck.

I am so LAS! :? Going for a walk to look for (and count) some birds. Hopefully it will clear my head so that I can get around to counting heads--or whatever it is I'm supposed to be looking for.
