Had to go the 11A route to get here, but now ASHORE.

And finally if you love two factor authentication (where is my #$% phone, now I have to turn it on, the @#$%^ thing is not charged where is the charger, and the site has timed out), the WSJ cartoon this week is for 9 factor authentication.

Hey, Muggle Friends -- Here on Muggle Beach, a sub-competition is in progress to devise a clue for the two grid entries that combine to make up this week's meta answer. A few excellent examples were shared on the Zoom chat yesterday. Please send me YOUR clue and I'll compile them and post on Monday here on the Forum. @PHOFER @DBMiller @sharkicicles @woozy Thanks!

To clarify: we're looking for you to come up with one single clue, like the one for 17A.

Very late start and ashore. Amazed at the elegant construction and at the solvers who did meta and grid in less than 20 minutes (the grid had me stumped with a couple of answers). Tar Heels on TV, fire on and an uncorked bottle of Barolo: life is good.

I'm hanging with Isaac for now. He's starting to set up the buffets for the football games tomorrow--as delicious as it looks, I hope I won't be here tomorrow!

The grid was tough--had to gooGLe to fill in mOSt of the northwest corner. And I am definitely not in SYnc with Matt on the meta since nothing is jIBing yet. I'll just keep revISiting the puzzle.

I am so dense, but I got it. Matt must have spent a little bit of time on this one.

Had to settle down and take a fresh look this afternoon, but ashore after a lightning flash revealed the pathway.

Strangely, they left out the part about requiring your password to be changed every 24 hours.

I particularly enjoy that on sites where I visit once a year to pay an annual bill.

Finally ASHORE! I actually thought about the metanism shortly after filling in the grid yesterday. Then totally forgot about it when we went out to dinner with friends last night. As I was helping Mr. Hidden with some yard work this afternoon, it hit me that I needed to check it out. Funny how inspiration strikes at the strangest times, but happy to have finally solved this one!

Made it to the beach with the help and encouragement of fellow muggles! I was swimming in the right direction, but not making progress until I was given a helpful shove. A very interesting one!
