Happy New Year! Matt threw us an easy one. Thank you. On shore and coincidentally headed to Florida!

By the way, what’s with the shout-out to the competition in 5A? Shouldn’t that be WSJ?!

On shore. A New Year’s gift from Matt!

On shore, I believe. I was thinking that it couldn't possibly be this easy for the last 20 minutes, but after reading the comments here, maybe it is.
The answer I'm thinking of isn't a series in the way that 'Friends' is.

Lightning delay = more Guinness! Congrats again on the MMMM mug!BethA wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 4:40 pm On the beach! 🏖
We poured Guinnesses to watch the Bearcats, which promptly went into a lightning delay! So I printed the puzzle. Here I am!
And my MMMM mug just arrived!!!
What was that expression? Sometimes it all just comes together...
Hoping for weather ⛈ improvement in Birmingham soon!

My guess is that the reasoning was that if it asked for "WSJ pieces," the answer would have to be a first-letters abbreviation. "WaPo" and "op-ed" are "clipped" abbreviations.

I am on shore but had to Google the answer. My daughter says that I/we live in a cave

Speaking of PAGEANT, if you haven't done so, check out today's (1/2/2020) WSJ puzzle.

I’m ashore.
Last year, I was 0 for 2 after the first two weeks, so 2020 is looking better than 2019 already.
