Well I certainly would not turnip my nose at any food pun attempt. I'll asparagus around and see who else might join. Everyone will probably want a steak in this if they have the time to appley themselves. OK gonna take it on the lamb.
NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!
As the only crossword fanatic in my family, I am always amazed when one of my children help me solve a meta. Went down a few rabbit holes, then gave the puzzle to my home-from-college son with the command, "Figure this out for me," which he did within two minutes. A celebratory beverage is in order for us both!
Finally made it to shore! I'm proud of this one, it was tough! I have been coming back to it whenever I get the chance since Thursday. I'm glad I didn't come up empty!

A-pear-antly, you do-nought have a response.
Cheese I didn't think this would be so Poplar (OK, so I went out on a limb). I lost track of the blog because I was watching some of the Championship games and since I do not have a team in it I didn't know whether to root for one beggar or another (yes its a stretch). But I was having a grape time listening to everyone wineing over one play or another. Finally I had enough, it was driving me crackers, so I came back to see what was in my basket.
