A little back-solving for me for part of it, but I'd say most of the grid was NYT Thursdayish, and the meta week 2-ish on the Gaffney scale. Enjoyable.

Agree; a 5-star AVX/Francis Heaney had me a bit trepidacious... but definitely a 1.5-2.0 here. Fun one though...

Agree with above. Is 5/5 meant to suggest the highest level of difficulty? If so, it wasn't that at all. But enjoyable.

The difficulty rating may be for the grid not the meta.
