As I was typing up my request for a nudge, the answer came to me, so I'm happy to list myself as "ashore!"

It's happened to so many on this board, reported many times, that I recommend the task to anyone still on the ship. I think the act of seeing the letters on the screen and keyboard helps to make things click.

Late start on a tough grid, but still not seeing anything. Maybe this G&T Isaac just served me will help!

Never underestimate the power of a good G&T! I used to shoot darts better after one too - count me onshore. Thanks, Isaac!

ship4u wrote: Sat Sep 02, 2023 10:22 am Does anyone else have their own fire hydrant? I couldn't let this beautiful piece go to the scrapyard, so Cynthia asked if we could have it. The workers replacing it not only agreed, they brought it to our house!

I decided to restore it to what it would have looked like originally. It is dated 1968 and was made by the Kennedy Valve Company of Elmyra, NY.

I suppose that you might say that we have our own "pee-mail" server for the neighborhood pooches...... :)

On shore :D

If you see I'm ashore and need a nudge, feel free to message me.

Ashore with a wee nudge. Very clever puzzle. Agree with the comments that the grid was a bear this week.

Saturday evening and I'm still with Isaac. I see some things, but nothing that adds up. I should have all day to look at it tomorrow before Last Call, so I'm hoping a Penny drops. :)

Exactly what I think of when I hear "Elmira." Big fan of It's a Wonderful Life, and Jimmy Stewart.

On shore. Actually on a real shore—in Anchorage Alaska. Spent the day on planes. The meta came rather quickly, so I had to figure out other things to do on the flights.

Lost at sea. Feeling like I'm going to get a big 3-down on this one.
