It’s a puzzle type called “The Missing Letter” that I created especially for the site: 25 entries in the grid are defined using their M-W dictionary definition, and these each begin with a different letter of the alphabet. Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

Beamup requested, just missed an update but confident. Not surprised if some could guess correctly without even doing the grid, but people solving with "no instructions" is baffling to me!

Yeah...
I did downs only and got the entire grid and a confident answer to the meta.
But there was no way I was going to submit without peeking at the clues and instructions. Glad I did.
