Ashore. Fit the puzzle in between concerts (Sheryl Crow last night, Dawes tonight, My Morning Jacket tomorrow!) Here’s to a great summer weekend in the NC mts, and a good puzzle.

Anyone else remember the Popeye movie from 1980? Earworm of "food, food, food, everything is food" centered around this guy.

Ashore. Which, as others have mentioned, is not the meta answer. Not sure which would be more amusing - finding that it was actually a meta answer, or seeing all the various ways people here avoided using that word when reporting their success.
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.
(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

That's Paul Dooley, a truly marvelous character actor who played Wimpy, the hamburger-eating cheapskate of the comic strip. I had the pleasure of having dinner with him years ago at a theater festival. I still fondly remember some of the stories he told. He played the dad in the movie "Breaking Away", one of my favorite films of all time.

Love the Bix. Sort of like solving a meta - very challenging at first but all downhill at the end!muggleunity wrote: ↑Sat Jul 29, 2023 8:27 pm Ashore! Good fun!
Ran the Bix 7 this morning, got some time to work on the puzzle this afternoon. It was nice, no banging my head against the wall for days.

On shore! Last week broke our longest-ever streak (10) in 6 years of metas.
When our rabbit hole went nowhere last night despite seeming to fit with 58A, we were feeling pretty defeated.
Luckily the foggy sunrise enlightened us! Happily joining the crowd and excited about our new streak of one!

Ashore with one little nagging question. Oh well, probably overthinking.

Was cruising with family while trying to solve. Didn’t get it until we disembarked and were driving home.
Finally found myself on shore literally and figuratively.

I’ve lived in Ohio 50 years but I only consider myself a Hoosier! Full of things to eat,
My boat took me to the shore.
Drink, cozzie, and feast!

Haha. I had to look up "cozzie" to make sure this post was suit-able for mixed company.
