I solved it. Impressive construction. A lot more impressive than I had initially thought it would be - nice 56A.

Agree - very clever construction but the cleverness was something to notice post-solve rather than as an element of solving it. Would have been an awesome meta, but a smart construction either way. Always enjoy any puzzle from @ebirnholz!
