Hi MMMM Subscriber-

Here are the links to the May MMMM, the fifth contest puzzle of the year:

https://pmxwords.com/2023-puzzle-5-ive- ... sic-in-me/

For those of you who like to solve online, you can access the puzzle at https://pmxwords.com

Send in your answer to the meta before 11pm ET Sunday, May 7, at pmxwords.com.

Thanks and enjoy,

Pete

P.S. I co-authored a non-music meta puzzle with Mack Meller for Will Pfadenhauer's Crosswords for Cancer fundraiser. You can enjoy this and many other puzzles while supporting a great cause at CrosswordsForCancer.com!

Fun one! Loving these MMMMs, and they often help me get earworms stuck in my head all day.

Loved it!

I warmed-up for it by doing the Muller & Meller meta from the CCCC yesterday!

On the board. As usual with the MMMM, the grid required a bit of research. Then, after an initial answer, there was a "Huh?" pause. The answer came shortly after. Fun!

Edit: Also, I learned something with 56A that I wish I hadn't.

Got it, but I needed some encouragement to persist after my first thought didn't work out.

At the bottom of the hole I found a great hallway lined with many doors, and a small table with a key on it. I grabbed the key and tried it in several doors until one of them opened! Now I find myself on the board! I hope it's not a chess board, because that's a different book...

On the board. Some research needed to complete the grid, as usual.

I am SO mad at myself! I submitted before checking the prompt. I blame my daughter for being here distracting me. Oh well.

On the board.

(No research to complete the grid, only after to look up 42A and 56A.)
