Grid done quickly.
I think I see parts of the meta, but it's not falling in place yet...

Do we have more folks on shore than there are viable brackets left?

Hi, any nudges out there? Staring at this one is getting me no where. A nudge to a first step would be appreciated.

Edit: Thank you. Got it!

Well, I recommend taking a day off, sleeping with the crossword next to you and looking at it the first thing in the morning when you wake up. Worked like a charm twice in this past month.

That being said, I have some feelings about this puzzle. Not as strong as the feelings I had about another recent puzzle, but still.

Reached shore on Thursday but didn't have a chance to visit the Muggles board to brag about it until now.

Finally! Needed all weekend between errands, exercise, catching up on sleep and checking in to work. Kept trying 3 mechanisms, even they right one and it finally dawned on me!
If I don't win a mug, I can always make one... ;) but it won't have the same cachet.

Bob, you have me on shore when my cheeks are busy leaving permanent imprints in a stool at Isaac's. Will look again tonight.

Hanging out on the boat with Isaac. Scanning the horizon for land, but, so far, all I see is water.

Ashore!

With two hard shoves.

I’ll have a Jameson in honor of an Irish friend.

When you think you are a bore
And you know not what’s in store
All you have a guesses galore
And you cannot take it anymore
With some shoves you reach the shore

As I gaze upon a cloud
Mouthing clues to myself out loud
Wrapping myself in a shroud
Should this poem be allowed?

When you’re getting on in years
Slowly yielding to your fears
Just alert those Irish ears
And ignore those Irish beers
And now am full of tears

(Text me if you saw it - I put a challenge in this poem)

Still hopelessly lost at sea. I've tried several things, but I'm not getting there. If anyone wants to PM me a nudge, I'd appreciate it! I'd join the Zoom, but that would wake my sleeping baby :)

I am ashore.

I couldn't figure things out, so I submitted a Hail Mary answer. Then I went to the Isaac's Last (Zoom) Call and got nudged to the correct mechanism (which I had thought of earlier this weekend but hadn't worked through). Lo and behold, the answer was my Hail Mary. A big thank you to the Zoom helpers!

I am lost at sea, with Issac. In a moment, I will be reaching out to someone for a nudge.

And the shame of it is that I'm Irish!
