My number in the draft lottery in 1971 was #267. That was the only thing I ever won... and I'm pretty okay with that.
I was #270, in the 1970 lottery. Lots of talk about moving to Canada that year, but I didn't need to do that.

Took a while to find time to do the grid, but the meta answer seemed to jump out at me. Seems like this must be an easy one. For the first time in a couple months, I am certain I am on the shore.
As much money and life as you could want! The two things most human beings would choose above all — the trouble is, humans do have a knack of choosing precisely those things that are worst for them.

On shore! Quick swim!

Whiskey nightcap, and I'm asleep on the beach.

Nah, as the great Yogi said: "nobody goes there anymore; it's too crowded."

A great selling point!

More like one for me and one for Kasia. :)

Ashore, and this time (for the first time) without having finished the grid. Have always been surprised when I see people here saying that, but now I get it. Unconfident for that reason but submitted anyway.

On shore. It's nice when an easy one fits into a busy weekend.

Ashore. Green Bench Sunshine City IPA.

Easiest ever, said someone who’s been shutout for a couple of months.

Glad this looks like an (E-Word) one, as I haven't started puzzle yet. So neither on the ship or the shore. I worry when the kids are too busy to Zoom until Sunday night. But it seems I don't need to worry this week(?).

Was visiting Denton, TX this week. Then spent yesterday traveling from Denton to Philly to the Pocono Mountains. I know... You're saying, "What a fancy, jet-setter life he leads! Is he a rich movie star or something?" Nothing but first class travel for me! Or, to be more precise, Economy. But I did get the emergency exit row. (Woo hoo!) And I got the driver's seat on the way to the mountains.

Don't drink all the tiki bar supplies! I still have hours to go before I start.

We are figuratively "Onshore," while literally at sea. (Somewhere between Santiago, Chile and Puerto Montt, Chile.)
