Safely on shore; At first came easily but I am really worried about the actual answer. I seriously wonder why everybody is so confident!

Finally made it to shore! Took me awhile to figure it out, but to me it makes sense! Bye bye 49 across! (Heidi)

On shore. Nice construction and a clever idea for the meta.

At long last, on shore!

I was sure—SURE!—that I was on the right track. But all I was getting was letter soup. As it turns out, I WAS on the right track, but having solved on my phone, and having not done due diligence by clicking through all the clues/answers again, I had been entirely overlooking one of the theme answers the entire time!

Anyway, quite a satisfying puzzle, and a reminder to my absent-minded self to solve on paper whenever the opportunity arises!

Excellent points. I bet a lot of us did similar back-tracking on this one.

WOW ... I can't even make up one of my weird solutions for this. I'll continue to think about it, but meanwhile I'll enjoy seeing Isaac for the first time in a while. I'll sleep on it ... LOL

I've been sitting on a completed grid for 24 hours and am no closer to solving the meta. Guess it'll be another long week with Isaac et al. Not that I'm complaining. How bad can it be out at sea with the best bartender EVER?!

After many a rabbit, decided to reprint and start over. Made notes on old sheet and there it was.

I agree my answer does not have that 100% feel, but would be an amazing coincidence if it is not the correct one.

Now it's time to mow the leaves.

I’ve got a just rabbit’s foot, but so far it’s not brought me any meta luck. Count me in the ship’s stern garden until further notice, Bob. And Isaac, please send me my usual supply of Saturday morning mimosas.

So far, I have only ideas as to what must be relevant. I'm still groping in the dark for the key.

Ashore! Struggled with the meta but finally solved it. I was getting pretty discouraged since I drew a blank last week. I'll celebrate tonight with some Girard chardonnay, one of my favorites. Good luck Muggles.
