The answer to this week's contest is a four-letter verb.
Have fun and good luck!

Mortimer, I'm back! Very enjoyable and ironically something I tried to no avail last week.
Happy weekend to all. Stay safe on the Southeast coast.

On shore. Lucky to stumble down the right rabbit hole. Now it's Miller Time!

Good one! And NOT one of the possibilities I came up with while pondering the title. Mark says I should add to my list of Puzzle Preparedness steps locking doors, shutting off computer, confining cats to the office, and setting the phone to deliver a mild electric shock to any unfortunate callers.
Good luck, fellow Muggles!

I've gotten very decisively to a four-letter term. It fits the title. But it doesn't really fit the ... milieu. That is, it's not a term I know to be used in the field (wink, wink) of endeavor suggested by many, many things in this puzzle.
I think the solvers here should know what I'm getting at. So ... do I need to be concerned? Or just go with the word I've very decisively arrived at?
Wait, that's not decisive at all!

A pleasant outing after I saw something I hadn't needed to consult in solving the grid. And YIPPEE, I'm a MCWCC monthly swag winner!

I am ashore for 7 in a row. The Brewers will need more than that to make the playoffs. At least the Packers are undefeated for the next 6 hours or so.

Before I put pen to paper, I was sure what the answer would be. Well, not sure, but >50%. Probably one of the ones Wendy was thinking of. But Mike threw me a curve. Trying to backsolve put me behind in the count. After fouling off a few, I finally managed to hit a clean single and eventually slide (or swim or wade) home.

I understand what you mean but I still thought it was a 100 percenter (or at least 99.99999 %).ChrisKochmanski wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2019 5:03 pm I've gotten very decisively to a four-letter term. As a lifelong baseball fan, I'm just a bit disappointed that the four-letter term I found doesn't completely, elegantly fit with my expectations for it, but I'll go with it and declare myself SLIDING HOME WITH THE WINNING WALK-OFF RUN !!!!
