Bob, I live near Presque Isle, Maine. That makes it 250 miles/ 4.5 hours to Sugarloaf Mtn. Not gonna happen.

Does anyone think that we are scrambling for an answer too quickly and it will wind up being a joke on us all (or in muggle speak a HUGE pageant)?

On shore, but with that Kas-1 sort of letdown. As I finished Step 1 and was ready to tackle Steps 2 and 3 (or more), I found that Step 1 is it (apparently). Still I like the grid.

There was a young lady named Inca
Who solved the meta in a blink- uh
But it would be a gamble
Because she had to unscramble
So maybe she should wait and re-think it.

Lots of poetic license in use there....starting with the word young (;)) and on through the inexact rhyming. But I just did it on the fly like the way I solved the meta this week. Good enough.

Marion and I are clearly on shore! I do agree with those that are expressing the "pageant" concern.........hope it's just an easier week than the past two!

Naw, I ain't buying it. I got this answer in Sisti time so I KNOW it cannot be right. It also has a "gotcha" feel to it because I have to make an assumption I do not usually have to. I'm holding my answer and looking at this in as many different ways as I can because I think we are all cruising for a bruising.

Oh, by the way, trying out the Excel crossword grid. Mine was not as straight forward because I have Excel 10 and there s no "make picture transparent". It can be done using the color transparency though. Still, moving around with the keys will take some getting used to because I keep selecting the darn grid and then moving it when I try to move the cursor. I may just go back to my PDF method since I have the full Acrobat. I will say it did make highlighting easy.

Fun puzzle. Meta was seemingly easy and less than elegant (maybe half-elegant) which gives me pause. I’m not expecting a pageant sucker-punch, but...

Actually, I think I’ll enjoy it if there is one. Coffee mug be damned.

Thursday night solve for the first time in a long while.

If I am wrong, I predict I will have a whole lot of company.

Oops. Was quickly scrolling up on my phone and I think I accidentally rated the puzzle. Looked like I gave it a 3.5! I don't know if there's any way to undo a rating....
