Super easy as a 1/5 should be.

Agree. As a newbie it’s nice to see what you experienced folks this is a real “week 1”.

One of Matt's easiest grids. Meta was definitely a week one. On shore.

A very easy week 1. But this month has 5 Fridays in it, so let's not celebrate just yet.

With all these "easy" claims, the one poor soul who so far has submitted an incorrect answer is going to feel awful. Not me, though, I'm certain I nailed it.

Maybe someone submitted the WSJ answer to him again. Didn't someone on this forum do that recently?

Or was in a rush and put their screen name in the answer spot and vice versa - that seems to happen from time to time.

Must have been a technical mistake that was corrected though because right now "This Week" and "Overall" are the same.

Thank goodness for a week 1, I'm feeling off my game. I like damefox's alternate solution in last week's writeup!

I don’t mind having a weekend when I don’t have to bang my head against the wall over and over! Alas, I miss baseball.......

Got it. Took a while for the leaderboard to update, so even Week 1 makes me nervous sometimes!

Hey! I’m on a roll now! Have gotten all 4 week 1 metas since I started in August. Can’t you just see me beaming? Bet I won’t be feeling so smug come week 3. I love taking a whack at the harder ones even though I’m in deep trouble from the get-go. Great fun for us word lovers. Thanks for the inspiration guys.
