Finally gave up and tended to more time-sensitive issues, like the fact that I had not wrapped any Christmas presents except the ones that had to be mailed. Sometime in the wee hours of the morning I came to the realization that I may have been on the right path to the meta solution all along, and hoped I would remember that path when I was fully awake. For once it worked! (Usually my dream-like "insights" are forgotten by the time I get out of bed, or they are so goofy that I laugh at myself for having any hope in them at all.) I had submitted my answer before finishing my first cup of coffee. Now I have the rest of the day to prepare some of my annual Christmas confections, buckeyes and toffee. The biggest challenge I will face is finding a place to hide my homemade goodies from my husband. If I'm not careful, he'll eat too many before I get a chance to share them with neighbors and friends.

Finally got around to looking after a busy weekend. Clever. Count me ashore. Will wait until tomorrow to muse about the theme.

On shore. Lately I have been solving the meta too late to be included in the final count. Following up on Dr. Tom's punning with bird names last week, I am glad that I am not quite bringing up the rhea today.

I strongly disagree. LAS
You and me both, Dplass!
EDIT: On shore, but only thanks to a kind Muggle who enlightened me as to a basic fact of modern life. I will be at the beach party but don't deserve to be. Just point and laugh when you see me.
Count me on shore. I have never 34 Downed, so, like Wendy Walker, I was ignorant of this same basic fact. And like a noted non-Muggle (or maybe it was Wendy -- it's hard to tell them apart), I have relied on the kindness of strangers.

Third week in a row that I am still out to sea while you are all enjoying cocktails on shore. I'm definitely not worthy. I've hit snooze a few times to go down more rabbit holes but I need a nudge.

I hope this isn’t a double post, but I’m on shore. This was one of those puzzles that I got after explaining my suspicions to my husband. It’s funny how telling someone else about it can clarify your thinking. Hope you all have a great day!

Here it is, Sunday afternoon, and I am still chasing rabbits and have nothing! Looks like a large contingent ashore.

Still at the bar. Not feeling the love this week. Candy canes, anyone?

Given that this is a forum for cruciverbalists, I would say neither of those choices, but rather, "logger." :D
