On shore. Finally. Not so much of an aha moment, more like a duh-huh.

Ready for a nudge, Wendy! Keep thinking (and reading) that the answer should be apparent...unfortunately, not for me!

it's getting to be a late hour, but I think I am on firm sand for the second week in a row. I spent time overthinking!

On shore. Took a nudge.

Not submitting for the mug and feeling duh for not seeing it right away.

Got last week's in about 5 minutes after the grid so I guess this one is harder but can not believe I did not see it.

Ashore with a few hours to spare. For the last nine days, I’ve been holed up in my stateroom, working on a different (but crossword-related) project. A few minutes ago, I came up on deck for air, stared dully at the far horizon and saw a sudden flash of light, whereupon I impulsively dove overboard and swam ashore.

Better late than never ... 😜

Bob, I posted that I made it to shore (albeit with a healthy nudge) while you were composing the list😂. Then I ran off to ski.

Well that was much easier than I was making it. Quite annoyed that it took me since Thursday to see it. I was thinking I might have to send back my mug!

Ashore. Spent a long time with Isaac, but finally saw how to mix this week's concoction.

On shore. Had the general direction for a while but, finally, it sank in.

mitchel674 wrote: Sat Dec 05, 2020 9:39 am Well, I seem to have an obvious answer, but I would consider it more a "pair of things" than a "two-word phrase". Am I overthinking this one?
Yes. ;) The answer is sometimes described based on its content -- e.g., "an event" or "a well-known author" -- and sometimes described based on its length -- e.g., "three-word" or "seven-letter" -- but if you got a two-word phrase that is at least tangentially related to the title or theme, then you're good.

Braggart!! <kidding, of course>

I guess I'm just envious, as here, there are plenty of mugs, but not THE mug.
