On Shore.
Re "non-premium" beers, by late 70s / early 80s Philadelphia local area was down to Schaefer's, Schmidt's, Ortlieb's and and a few others.
Back then, at the right price anything would suffice.
Somehow we survived!
Have a safe weekend everyone.

Chris - a lot of bad memories came from that list.ChrisKochmanski wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 8:24 pmHereabouts (Michigan), in the category of super cheap beers, we also had Pfeiffer, Drewry, Blatz, Falstaff, Goetz, and others that maybe weren't quite so cheap or bad, like Carling and Hamm's. And of course our hometown favorite, Stroh's!mheberlingx100 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 8:19 pmI haven't had a Genny Cream Ale since college, probably 1979. Genny Cream Ale! OMG, I remember drinking this when I was (I'm ashamed to admit) 16 or 17 years old. Smoooooth!
We also used to drink Mickey's, which came in a short, green, wide-mouth bottle. We called it the Green Grenade.
By the way, I'm on the beach!

In the mid-to-late 70s & early 80s, the only redeeming factor of any cream ale was that it would get you there quicker. A friend put himself through college via old 8 ounce Coke bottle vending machines holding 7 ounce Schoenling Little Kings Cream Ale in fraternity houses around campus.

As of two days ago, Shaefer's is now being brewed at Utica's F.X. Matt's Brewery.

On, after a very nice long diversion that went on seemingly endlessly like a cavern with many tendrils, reminding me of Tom and Becky who were stuck for days and could not even get a good snack while stuck, much less anything to drink, shore.

Ballantine was a nasty beer but I did used to enjoy the rebus puzzles on the caps.

Grid done, but still afloat. Hoping to find a way to shore after a mental break.

No time yesterday, and MCWCC week 4 is coming up, so I'm glad this went smoothly.
