Meg -

Since it's just you and me at present, does that make me the cabana boy?

I'm on shore, soon to be surrounded!

What's your pleasure, Meg? Ah, yes! Megarita coming up!

Matt Gaffney is endlessly creative when it comes to crosswords, but it looks like he might be running out of titles for his crossword contests. For those of you who don't subscribe to MGWCC (You should) his most recent puzzle was titled "We're Surrounded." I'll know I'm right if next week's puzzle is called "I'm surrounded."

Ashore! Until today, I've never had a drink on the beach before 5 o'clock. Or before 9 o'clock, either, if you must be a stickler for accuracy.

I knew this one was not gonna be one I could do last week during the Q&A when his tester made a comment about this puzzle.

My pleasure is another margarita. Sucked that first one down pretty fast. Iโ€™m not going to say this meta is easy because most of us hate to see that in a comment. The first thing I tried was the correct path. It happens that way sometimes.๐Ÿ™‚

I edited my earlier post to say that I was going to get you a Megarita. I hope that's OK. I went down a different path before I found the right one, but I was close on your heels!

T,
I went back and checked the video. In the comment section, Matt's test solver said "Just gonna say: Love Matt's next meta, which is a week from tomorrow." I donโ€™t know if one can infer difficulty from that.

I can - at least for me - I've never come close to solving a puzzle that a good solver "loves." Most good solvers tend to like puzzles that are unique or challenging - I can never solve those. I can solve the ones with methods I've seen before.

Strange thing. We drove 10 hours yesterday, to see the kids. On the way we discussed THE VERY TOPIC OF THIS PUZZLE. So the answer came fast.

Onshore. Not a tough solve, but impressive construction nonetheless.
