Funny how a fresh look in the morning sets you on course to the solution. Guinness with a full Irish breakfast.

“Water under the bridge.”

(Or “Toothpaste Out of the Tube.”)

Finally on shore. I would not call that "easy". Was literally saying part of mechanism a dozen times and still didn't see it.

“Water under the bridge” is more familiar to me. However, it is quite common in my neck of the woods to see water over the bridge in the spring.

Am afraid I am getting a bit burned out on the metas. This one left me with a slightly sour taste in my mouth...not really sure why. That's why I think I am just meta-ed out.
Inca - hang in there. I am in the same mode the last three weeks but the previous 2 were some of the toughest this year. Before that I was cruising on the beach.

My golf game is the same way, Five great holes than a couple of fur balls for scores.

How do I get off this @#$%^ ship?

Go to a lifeboat

Not that lifeboat stupid, the one you are supposed to go to.

What do I do then?

What do you think?

Duh - and like that I am on the shore.

I’m ashore. Not particularly easy, but I’m still a bit of a greenhorn so maybe not the best judge. Either way, I’m glad to be off the ship after two long weeks with Isaac! Just in time for the MGWCC.
Good luck Muggles!

I think the problems was that I was so deep in my rabbit hole when you posted that I missed you all together.

Your are now the 118th on the shore

Dom solved quickly, and enjoyed tormenting me. I told him my fragments of a first step and he told me that I was so close that he couldn't offer any further hints; just stick with it. He was right; I was tantalizingly close without realizing how to extend my 2 fragments into the needed mechanism to solve it, until just now. As we are both thrilled with the return of NHL hockey - playoffs, no less! - I made a hockey reference that I won't share for fear it will be a spoiler for that minute percentage of Muggles who are into hockey as we are. Go Preds!

Did you tell Dom that tormenting your father on meta solutions is justification for rewriting your will?

Just got around to the puzzle a little while ago as I was finishing up last week's impossible editing chore. Hard to believe that I spent a week of my life on that volunteer task. My reward was seeing how to solve the meta while filling in the grid, though it took me some time to put it all together. I'm very happy to report that I am on shore again!
