I liked this one, and think others will too. Off the Couch... and into the pool.

I found the grid really challenging. Pretty well Naticked in the east... hopefully it won't affect the meta.

Off the couch! Now awaiting confirmation I’m correct.

Indeed a challenging grid. Fun meta! I needed a nudge to get me out of an unproductive rabbit hole.

Heh, cute. This one is likely to skew boomer.

Edit: Seeing Jay and Leslie's comments makes me kick myself for forgetting to compliment the grid and cluing. These muggle metas have all been superb but it's extra impressive to have just a super crossword to boot.

I think I have it. Great puzzle and one of the most enjoyable fills I have had in a while. Thanks Peter! Confirmed.

Answer confirmed. He definitely had me looking in the wrong place for a while.
Smooth puzzle, and pretty amusing, once I caught on.

I'm beginning to think that "Stumped" is my new persona. For a self-styled political junkie, trying to draw the right one from a hatful of senators' names, my poll numbers are trending southerly.

I just finished the challenging grid and calculate I have a slightly better than 1% chance of guessing the answer ... ;)

Time to stare

Great grid. Learned a thing or two. 34D was 'puzzling' without the CAPS. Grinding on the meta and look forward to Nudge Wednesday.

Cheers,
'tis... A lovely day for a Guinness!
