We could be in record setting territory. It is not even 9 am on Friday and the shore is crowded with 116 of us.

If you want a smile, check out fstadler's avatar at post #97

For those who are posting the rules for beaches in California, these are the rules in Maine. It will be interesting to see how things play out in the resort towns.

Didn’t look at it until this morning, a quickie solve. Might be a lighter than usual holiday travel weekend, but this beach will be crowded for sure!

Ashore!

On the beach for the first time in weeks. Is there free coffee or something this morning at the Tiki Bar? It is reeeeeaaaaaly crowded. Fortunately the beach is huge.

I’m still new at this. Have never solved the meta. This is the first time I know I found the correct first step. But there are usually two or three steps. I do have a question. If one of you folks with your butts in the sand is willing to put down your drink for a moment, please PM me.

Ashore almost immediately, despite my meager knowledge of the field.

On shore. And with an extra day to drink before the solution is printed. Then again every day is an extra day for drinking at the moment.

Ashore - and like many other commenters, (a) impressed by the construction, (b) unchallenged by the meta other than having had to Google it to confirm that such a person exists and (c) wondering whether we are in record-setting territory for beachgoers this week.

^^^ From what I can tell we don’t even have anyone with Issac at the moment that’s the first time I’ve seen that at this point on a Friday in the few months I’ve been here.

Solved. I’m house training a new puppy, so I’m very grateful for an easy one that still was fun.

37A here reporting my status: Done & Done! Like many I saw the meta-solving mechanism right away and used it to finish the grid. Now I have the rest of the long weekend (maybe) to get back to my gardens if they are not too water-logged. We've had several days of non-stop rain in NC with more in the forecast and flood warnings, also. Trees that are normally on our shoreline are now standing in almost a foot of water. I've never seen the lake level so high except when hurricanes are in the Atlantic. My husband says he is buying a rain gauge; I told him I'd get him one for his birthday. (Told you we were hopeless romantics!)
