I am not sure why it showed up on wsj.net so much earlier than wsj.com but it is there

This week's contest is titled At Odds by Mike Shenk

the answer to this week's contest crossword is something people who are at odds often do.

For new muggles, as a resource and a lot of work by a couple of muggles, the past WSJ crossword contests and solutions are available on the blog at Come Aboard/FAQs – community/Past WSJ Crossword Contests & Solutions. They provide a tremendous resource for learning and refreshing about the techniques used to solve meta contests.

In addition, under Come Aboard/FAQ Community, there is a section on Guidance on Hints/Nudges. Last week there were a lot of good thoughts that I am working on consolidating and will post them under this link. It will be more of a “how to” rather than a “should I”.

If I'm around, I am willing to join the Muggle Zoom room at other times to lend a hand to those in need.

Happily on shore this week, after keeping Isaac company for all of last week.

It seems like weeks since I've been on the right side of the surf - not nearly as long as it's been since I sat in a crowded 43D, though - so I'm going to celebrate in this fine assembly. A toast to Al & Co. for continued (and literal) good health.

Been away for a bit, dealing with life and not lurking here much. Couldn't get week 1 or 2 but, dangit, I got today.

FYI, the WSJ doesn't get harder week by week like MGW does.

Onshore, so I don't have to spend the weekend at odds with this puzzle, like I did last week. It's nice to be back! Very nice job of construction.
