I have stumbled onto an answer, but I can't say that I have any inkling how it relates to some of the hints given. It MUST be the answer, but how was I supposed to get there? How was I supposed to know where to start? Or end? Please count me still on the boat, Bob.

My own experience with these is that when you have the solution, you know. You should be able to explain it succinctly the way it's finally set forth on Monday. Otherwise, you may not have it yet.

Tough grid. Ashore. Clever, and fun meta. Natasha's words for it were that it was "esthetically pleasing". What made it fun for us was the family sitting around the dinner table, including frosh UT daughter and 5th grader, pulling on different strings, chasing rabbits, and finally reeling in the catch, thanks to Mike's genius.

Exactly. When I feel I'm struggling to justify a path, I ask myself; "How would the explanation be written on Monday?" If it seems overly complicated, it's probably the wrong path.

Ran out of new books to read. I rarely reread books, but in the spirit of this forum I’m reading the Harry Potter books again. Go Muggles!

I just reread Sorcerer's Stone. Unfortunately, the rest of the books are not available from our library online. And our actual books are in another state with our daughter, so that isn't going to happen either.

WSJ will contact you via email if you win. You give them the address of where to send the mug and your name if it is not clear from the email address.

This is the process that I understand from WSJ however for me it is still theoretical.
