Still on ship. I had a couple of ideas of something to look for, but couldn't find anything in either category. Will put it aside and look again later. Hoping for post enlightenment.

You’re an attorney, for goodness’ sake. You’re not stupid. You just need to accustom yourself to thinking a certain way! :)

Ashore! (or as Rita would say -- well, there goes the weekend!)

I think between this week and last week, it evens out. Boy, were we lost last week!

Believe me - these are tougher than anything I have to do in the practice of law. No matter how hard I argue with the puzzle or what evidence I show the puzzle - it never surrenders.

tax law is the crazy place these days, particularly with the 880 page CARES Act and the changes it threw at us, plus three (really, more than three) IRS Notices about the tax deadline.

If you want to know more about 2019 taxes, google "IRS Notice 2020-23". It was issued at approximately 5 pm Central today, making even more changes to the 4/15 deadline (hint - it's pretty much all due 7/15 now).

LOL!!! I took the LSAT about 25 years ago. I aced everything...except the logic puzzles, and that section of the exam kept me from getting into Stetson. If you can do those well, I tip my hat to you!

No wonder you find metas easy! I don’t suppose I’ll be getting a file delay on this one.

I debated doing a LLM in Tax at Georgetown and going the Tax law route - even interned at Raymond James Trust while in law school.

My friend actually quit her job as a Tax Lawyer at an AMLAW 200 firm 2 weeks ago and started her own firm doing just CARES Act stuff for the short-term. So I guess its complicated which means there is money to be made in advising on it.

On shore. Got a very late start on the puzzle after spending most of the day walking (my way of maintaining sanity), but the meta came pretty easily.

On the beach, the only beach in sight. Seems like a good time to sample a 5A or a rival. Nice one Matt.

DrTom wrote: Thu Apr 09, 2020 6:02 pm Ah the wonders of post enlightenment! I had the right idea all along I just could not put it correctly into play. I did try some wild gyrations before finally seeing the rabbit's butt (as Meg alludes to). Gosh I have a great pun here but I'm afraid it would be WAY too close to a spoiler, I'll wait until later. Dang and I do love puns, I'll satisfy myself with a beer and a sandwich instead -now what kind....

So that I'm clear, ASHORE!
Finished the grid and hoping for the same post enlightenment as you by posting this!! :D
Wow post enlightenment works -- I'm ashore! Fun meta and great start to the weekend
