I've definitely done this, haha.

Puzzle #87 drawing winners: @BarbaraK and @LesY
Puzzle #88 drawing winners: @Dannyvee and Steve M
These will go through Puzzle #90, the end of the Winter Solvestice!
---
Puzzle #91 answer: I WON
Correct entries: 35, with a low meta:solver ratio, so I'll try to go a bit easier for the next few weeks!
@BrennerTJ won with these graphics!
Explanation: The four numeric themers: 91, 81, 61, and 89 all form different numbers when turned upside-down: in order, 16, 18, 19, 68. Take the letters in these squares, U O M I, and then turn this upside-down as one collective entity: the phrase I W O N forms, with me using artistic license to make the "U" into an "N" instead of just making an "N" into another "N." And looks like the Cubbies are turning things around this year!
---
This should be a Level 2.5/3 or somewhere in there. (Level 2.75, is that a thing?)
---
92. It's a Breeze
The answer to the meta is a 6-letter word.
Deadline is Saturday, May 4 at 1 pm ET.
Good luck, and may all your solves be beautiful!

Wow, thank you! For the prize and for all the fun puzzles!
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.
(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

Help? I'm puzzled by 6D: "Pie ____ (another dessert)" and the answer is "La Mode". What happened to the "A" La Mode? Thx!

TY for the quick reply Mikey, and keep your punny puzzles coming --- they're funnier than Jonesin's! (And I'll root for the Cubbies!)MikeyG wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 6:21 pmWhoops, looks like that did slip my editorial staff (i.e., me, at least for that one, haha). They look much improved, though! Soto's a good fit, it seems!

Judge is in a horrible slump and their bullpen is very iffy. Soto has been great though--playing at an MVP level.
Your D was a little off today. You gave up two touchdowns and a field goal to Boston .

Mike, I think your difficulty meter may need to be recalibrated. Fun puzzle though!

The only good news is the Brewers gave up five field goals to you guys, so I guess no harm, no foul? But that was brutal.

So fun! I had two “can it really be that?” moments during the solve. I found a way to apply step one a second time but it only provided three letters. I finally saw the light but had to correct an entry to get to the finish.
My avatar proves that it is sometimes better to be lucky than good!
