I used to do that, but found it more of a challenge to get a low number than to almost always solve it after the first three eliminated many possibilities.

I currently start with one of SAINT/STAIN/SATIN, and if it's a complete swing and a miss, I try ROUGE/ROGUE. Today worked out and I made all the right guesses after that.
Hey! Those are my #1 and #2 guesses! The third is LYMPH, to exhaust all five vowels, Y, and 9 unique consonants.

Two ways I play Octordle:
  • ALTER/SCION using the 10 most popular letters in the Wordle database (in order): EAROTILSNC. There are many other combos, but Wordles start with S & A most frequently.
  • LOUSY/IRATE or ROYAL/SUITE for all vowels, then the most popular letters
I gave up on Duotrigordle, which added 300 words to its database (the original Wordle). Most of the additions were done via pluralizing & past tense. It was muddying my Wordle brain, so I quit.

Been too long, I don't remember mine. STERN/COUGH/BADLY, methinks
If I'm around, I am willing to join the Muggle Zoom room at other times to lend a hand to those in need.

Page 16 is a good place for this one. One of my all-time bests -- 18.
