After discussion with another muggle, my submitted answer is one I'm even more confident of.

It's ridonculous.

The Beatles had been broken up for several years by the time my parents were in high school, so they never really listened to any of their music outside of “Sgt. Pepper’s” and “Abbey Road”. The “Love” compilation album came out when I was in high school and really got me interested in The Beatles, so I ended up buying the complete box set of all their albums in college. Funnily enough, I ended up introducing my parents to some of their older stuff (particularly, “Rubber Soul” and “Revolver”), and now we frequently have The Beatles playing whenever we get together for cocktails.

Good music is good music, no matter the genre or generation it came from.
"Now for all the Gen X'ers and beyond, for those of us who were in high school and college when the Beatles hit the scene, don't make us feel older than we already are by "I listened to them with my parents". Coronavirus targeting us is bad enough. LOL"

"The Beatles had been broken up for several years by the time my parents were in high school"

That is a most evil tweak at the cruise director. Best to make a sacrifice to the muggle god straight away. Guinness seems to be the drink of choice here.

After surviving my martini hangover, I have dog paddled to shore.

Two corona jokes:
1
Q: Did you hear, corona virus is now been shown to be transmitted by insects?
A: Oh god no!

Q2: Yeah, now you can get corona with lime disease.

Are sometimes too obscure for
Generation X.

:)
True for the most part, but as an older Gen-Xer, I was raised on a steady diet of the Beatles by my Boomer siblings, and I learned to play the guitar using Beatles songbooks as a teenager. I’m a bit of an old soul when it comes to music, so the last couple of weeks here and on MGWCC and MMMM have been lots of fun.

"Not in the Hopper."
This should really be in the forum for last week, but I figured that nobody would see it there.

Why the stockpiling of toilet paper if everyone is scared sh*tless?

Several things that are amazing
1) you don't use that much toilet paper and people are getting a year's supply or more (especially at places like Costco)
2) almost all the toilet paper we use is made in the old USofA. And what is not is made in Canada or Mexico

On shore. Not a Beatles fan, but do know this song. I prefer Journey's Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'....

I am pronouncing myself on shore!

Wow - I just checked and it has been 4 weeks since my last post. Overcome by events! First it was preparing for a big fundraiser. I made the mistake of offering to put all the raffle prizes together in decorative baskets. Little did I know that my fellow board members would literally be handing me merchandise and gift certificates the day before the event. I stayed up working on that project until 5:00 a.m. on the day of the Gatsby-themed casino night and learned very quickly that it was waaaaay easier to pull all-nighters back in college days. At least I won a best costume prize! Next morning up at the crack of dawn to pack for a week on Kiawah Island, SC. (If you've never been, I highly recommend it!) What I thought would be a relaxing vacation, turned out to be anything but. We were on the go from morning until night trying to keep up with our daughter, SIL and 17-month old granddaughter. I need a vacation from my vacation. Meanwhile, the coronavirus was causing problems for our other daughter who was in London with her husband for an anniversary get-away. Needless to say, they came back a day earlier than planned when travel restrictions started taking effect. Now I am looking forward to catching up on some puzzles and metas (which involves concentration to avoid spoilers as I read this week's posts). So glad to be back in the land of the Muggles. Stay safe everyone!

Good Sunday morning muggles

Fortunately the coronavirus does not affect the Love Boat nor virtual beaches so we are safe. We have 3 on the ship and 146 on the shore - closing in on our record of 150 which was set February 20 and tied last week

First we welcome our three newest muggles: Michael S and James S on the WSJ web site and Head Scratcher here

Joining the mob on the shore since yesterday are
Steveb
Lucas
Patty
Barbara K who I missed yesterday and has joined Cindy in my bold (do not forget) lettering
Diane
Jeremy
Devilbunny
Mary CC
Ann P
Burak
Susan G
diplomat
John B
Bill T
Scott R
Barry
Susan F
Olaf
Michael S
James S
Head scratcher
phofer
Libbypibby
our clam Geoduck
Susan H
and Hidden in 3D. By the way Sara - what you experienced in your fund raiser is normal. You are lucky that people did not hand you stuff the day of the event.

anyway stay safe. This virus may be a boon to MGWCC since there is no sports to watch on TV and we can't go anywhere.

Ashore since Thursday but only virtually because Al’s “Diabolical” comment persuaded me to hold off submitting it until today. I have a guess at why he made the comment and hope he explains it after the deadline.

We babysat our grandkids this weekend - a 9-month-old and a 3-year-old. Let's be honest: kids are a lot of work! It was a weekend of simple pleasures (walks in the park, sunset drives, Disney movies, making pancakes with my grandson, and reading about dinosaurs), since everything's basically shut down now in Ohio - and the meta eluded me. But after our daughter and son-in-law came for the kids, and the house was blessedly quiet, and there it was! This one seems more playful and less deductive than most. And now for a nap!

Done and submitted what is likely the most obvious answer. I never go into these with 100% certainty.

To Deb F....we were some of your travelers on Hilton Head for the past week and thoroughly enjoyed the area, the food, and the weather. I don't think we brought any pestilence with us and hope we didn't bring any home!

Puzzle was easy as usual but I never get the meta. Not once in like 200+ puzzles - I thought maybe this one might be different because I know Beatles songs but predictably it will be something stupid.

I have dog paddled to shore. Hopefully the correct one, but, at the least, correct enough with a tiki bar or two.
