The Final WSJ Hex Cryptic

Hoo boy, that was a tough one. I sussed out the missing letters before finishing the grid, which helped, but there were some hard entries to be sure. Happy retirement to Henry and Emily, sad that this is your last. I, too, cut my teeth on the Atlantic cryptics. What a puzzle on which to bow out.

Not my favorite, but I was determined to finish since it is their last one. I had to use every tool - OneLook, OneAcross, and even had to cheat using AskRoss (Crossword Genius app) for a couple.
I like easier straightforward cryptics like the Sunday New Yorker. The clues often make me smile.
