The answer to the metapuzzle is a past-tense verb.

Just need to find a working printer as I'm traveling for Thanksgiving and we'll see if I can make heads or tails of this...

Thanks for getting the thread started, Damefox!

Enjoyed this one. I took a couple of wrong turns before finding the right approach. Am hoping it won’t impinge on too many holidays for the group, although I’ve been wrong before.

Thanks to Peter for publishing right after the MGWCC escapade, and Happy Thanksgiving to all!

My printer isn't working, but I'm heading to my Dad's later today, so I think I'll have him print it out. I've already filled out the grid and taken a photo of it, but I'll fill it on paper and tonight we can have a family solve with me, my Dad, and my son. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Hard grid! Trying to see something while waiting for kitchen timer to ring. Big cooking day today.

A very fun solve. I expected another step and had to retrace to discover I'd walked right by the answer.

Happy Thanksgiving to all, with all respect to native Americans.

Solved! Stared at it for a while without seeing anything, and then slowly the answer emerged.

Solved, after an afternoon of rabbit holes , and then a helpful nudge. Very clever.

Got it!

Also needed a slight nudge. Basically, to tell me that one of my rabbit holes was where to look.

Good one!

Have a wonderful holiday, all!

Went from "I'll never get this" to "huh, that's interesting" to "got it!" in the space of about 10 minutes*. Nice one!

*Of course, this 10 minutes occurred after spending an hour or two staring at the puzzle and trying different things earlier...

I also enjoyed the grid! It was tough, but unlike last week's, I could eventually mostly solve it without Google. There was just one section (43A, 47A, 36D, 37D, 44D) where I didn't know anything and couldn't make any headway, but the rest of it just needed some thought. Well, a lot of thought, but those are my favorites!

Now it's time to tackle my messy kitchen, since I took the day off to cook/prep... Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!

Is that a new term in our lexicon? I like it!

This one is still in my blind spot, and in a few minutes I'm going to have the Week 5 to deal with. I hope nobody remembers that we usually decorate for Christmas this weekend. I'd rather just sit and work on these....

Wow, I finally pulled this one together, I believe. Had more trouble with this than I should have!
