I haven't even looked at the puzzle yet, but popping in to claim those cute boys on Matt's page as my own.

What's with the "10" and "50" after some solvers IDs?
From the other leaderboard - might be some sort of level of related to current streak?

I was going to ask! So cute! My daughter watched pretty much nothing else for about two years around age 5 (and she had a little notebook too--but not the chair). I wrote "Team Steve!" in my comment with the solution :-)FrankieHeck wrote: ↑Fri Sep 25, 2020 1:33 pm I haven't even looked at the puzzle yet, but popping in to claim those cute boys on Matt's page as my own. :-)

I was so glad that my son was over the show by the time Joe came around. Team Steve all the way.Laura M wrote: ↑Fri Sep 25, 2020 2:44 pmI was going to ask! So cute! I wonder if the different colors of the streak logos are based on solo or group solves. Or just the same info as the streak tab.

I suspect the colors are just default for the available icons with those numbers. Standard emoticons.
And yes, having more luck understanding the emoticons / numbers then the puzzle.
Fear the puzzle this week involves a solve method I really don't enjoy.

Beam me up!
Great puzzle! I must say, though, I only got there with a couple of nudges. Which makes me feel very guilty about my MGWCC streak. I don't think I'd have gotten there, on this one, on my own. Maybe, but probably not. My solo-solve streak, up to this puzzle, was probably only 8 or 10, maybe 10 or 12. I hope Matt is distinguishing, somewhere in his data banks, between all-solo-solve streaks and some-group-solve streaks.
But please be sure, I'm not saying that other group solvers should feel guilty. This is ME. It may be my raised-a-Catholic guilt. Sister Edwina could unfailingly take the wind out of our sails every time one or another of us thought we were hot stuff.

grid, done. NW corner was the last to come together.
possible step 1.
no obvious path to step 2. no nudges (yet) please.

I think I see the entry point, but leading me nowhere. Happy to at least have that to work on though.

I think I have an entry point too, will happily field any PMs so I can explain my way of thinking with a gentle nudge if I'm on the right lines.
EDIT: Beam me up! Thanks to Hector for some friendly nudges and Orsys for aiding discussion (hope to see you on the board soon!).
