Same here. The ???s had me ???d. But, I did get it. Beam me up.

Excellent! I knew I would love this one when I saw the title and all the ???s. Got a late start because of work stuff, but beaming up now.

Be this creature quite all that he seemeth —
An enormous monster that one dreameth?
No, that five-letter noun
At number one down
Don’t look to me like no behemoth.

And behemoth me up.

How much did you pay Matt to put your name in the grid?

Well, maybe a giant radioactive 1D would qualify for that description. If there has ever been one in a cheap sci-fi movie, this guy has probably shown it: https://svengoolie.com/

Beam me up!

Got a late start on this one, so it made for a pleasant accompaniment to a quiet, rainy Happy Hour in these parts.

Solved and submitted (waiting for the leaderboard to update). I couldn't turn my attention to this until about an hour ago, and I'm impressed by how quickly so many people got through this grid. I really liked the concept here - it was a fun one.

Beam me up as well. The best part of this one was solving like 10 squares in the NE area all at once.

And agree with oldjudge on nominating Bird for Post of the Year.

very interesting and tricky grid.

still staring at it, have finally finished all the ???, I think mostly correct. Very difficult for some of them until the AHA hits.

the meta - I'm going back to the WSJ puzzle first.

I don’t ever rate these on Crossword Fiend, but I am making a mental note to go in Tuesday and give this one five stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 🌟

Well, I think I have it, I submitted, perhaps prematurely, but I really saw no other avenue.

One minute, REALLY, 1 MINUTE to get the solve. That had to be a Hail Mary, I cannot bring the puzzle up and print it to start on it online in 1 minute!!!
