 I'm kicking myself that I didn't see the email until 5min after I received it. Would have been #1 (with an asterisk for the head start).

Beam me up to a personal speed record. Wasn’t protecting a streak so did not hesitate to submit before finishing the grid.

Happy Fourth everyone!

Matt fixed it. I've seen that happen before.

I had sent my answer in at about the same time, and when I didn't see my screen name up there, I sent Matt a quick email saying "PLEASE tell me I'm not the one who did that!" I showed up in the next refresh, and that solver was still listed a minute before me. Whew!

Whew! That means it wasn’t me either. Did someone forget to type in their user name?

Solved. I woke up at 9 AM PDT (I’m a night owl) and saw that the puzzle had come out early. When I submitted I got a strange message and was afraid I had screwed something up, but I was the last confirmation in the 12:35 EDT batch. Everyone have an enjoyable, but safe, 4th.

Beam me up. Didn't notice the early release, but after rushing last month's week 1, I took my time to make sure this time.

Beam me up! Truly a Week 1 -- I could guess at the answer after only a dozen or so entries. Happy Fourth, all!

Solved. I read my husband the first theme answer and he got the meta. I should have submitted without finishing the grid. I could have been number one just for once!
