I made myself finish the grid before submitting.

Well I forgot he was making this a Week 1, and I neatly wrote out the whole thing on graph paper!

Now I just need to come to terms with Matt's new plan. I know it makes sense, but I love winning random crap from drawings soooo much. I think I need a beer to cry in.

He said it would be a true week one and clearly delivered.

Got it. When I solve the meta before I finish the grid I know it's a week 1.

Got this one VERY quickly -- only a quarter or a third into the grid. Should be many, many correct solvers.

Couldn't get to this right away, but once I did it went quickly. Definitely a week one.

Got to this late and didn’t read Matt’s writeup beforehand, so was worried about a pageant when I had the answer less than halfway through the grid on a week 2!

That’s about as fast as I can solve a meta. Probably ten minutes start to end.

Sorry to see that Matt’s doing away with the swag bags, but I still have a chance at winning a WSJ mug.
