This week's contest answer is a four-letter course you might take at a 45-Across.

I thought so as well! And this week you solidly beat me to the leaderboard. ;)

I don’t know if Dave is signed up here, but if he is, a big thanks for all the work on MGWCC!

Had the solution half way through the grid, but felt no need to rush on a week 3. Finished the grid to confirm.

Did use the comments to thank Dave (and wonder who the new webmaster at MGWCC will be?)

I considered pasting my resume in the comments...

Got it. I'm always wary of guest constructors, but this was pretty straightforward.

On the board. Agree it feels more like a week 1.5.

Beam me up. Seems a bit easy for a week 3 to this newbie.

Only my second week doing these but am two for two. These seem like the easier Friday contests, but I’m sure that will change next week and I will go from cocky to humble.

Beam me up!

I'm surprised now that it took me as long as it did to get this one. I completed the grid pretty quickly ... drifted into a nap ... then stared for an hour or more (though with occasional distractions) ... before finally saying, "Oh. There it is."

I can see how others, though, got the answer even before finishing the grid. Easy for a Week 3, I'd say.

Very nice! Beam me up as well.

I was trying something very wrong and totally lucked into the right path. Thankfully I now have my weekend back.

What will weeks 4 and 5 bring? (shudder)

I have a plausible answer but it seems... too easy? I suppose that being a guest constructor, especially THIS guest constructor, that I can forgive it not lining up with the normal weekly difficulty but still, I'm hesitant to click that "submit" button.

Beam me up! I too am surprised it took me that long. Several brief sittings, then saw it.

I need to quit looking for what I think it should be much sooner

I agree with others that this one came easy. But I wondered if it would for everyone.
