Ashore. Can't kick the habit I guess.
Sleeping on it helped again.

LIFE MODELS is also a good recent example of a meta that I never even got close to figuring out, so you know, the upfrontness of the hint is in the mind of the interpreter. Or something :-)
In LIFE MODELS - the hint was in one of the most obvious places to look in the grid - the last across clue. The clue itself was a pretty common variation of a direction to find (x). I’ll delete my account and never come back if someone can convince me the direction to this puzzle is more straightforward than that.

Bob, count me in the bar in the first row of the Muggle crowd watching old flicks for inspiration. To Isaac’s credit, he found us some good ones. I’ll likely be here at closing time...

Well, these "easy ones" are inevitably my nemeses. I solved the GRID yesterday, working at the hospital today, but last night when I was looking at it I had some ideas but literally NOTHING popped out at me. Not sure why the obscure is always clearer to me than the clear...hopefully I'll get some time this evening to look at it and not feel the let down of my high from the past few weeks.
NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!

I really liked the puzzle too! Don't love the clue for 7D - maybe its a regional or age thing but never heard of that referred to in that way. But it was a fun puzzle with some unique clues and fun theme.

Looking forward to Pimento Cheese Sandwich washed down with an Arnold Palmer (well maybe a John Daly).
Enjoy the weekend everyone and good luck solving and winning the mug.

Good Friday morning.

We have a growing crowd on the beach with 56 on the shore and 8 on the ship.

And check out Tina Lippman's puzzle in the LA Times today.

Our Saturday report may be a little late depending on how long it takes me to install two outside lights at my daughter's house.

Again, my husband and I are on the boat, despite what we thought *should* have been the solution tot the puzzle. But we ended up with something that is definitely not a three word phrase.
