Solved (and I really enjoyed this meta).

Here's my journey:
Aha!
Aha (with a slight error which got me confused).
And then Aha! Now it all works perfectly.

We've noticed a few oddities of the puzzle, but are still on the ship.

On shore!

And so pleased to be here. Even relieved. I’d been having a rough week with the metas. This is the first since Sunday I solved completely solo — no nudge. I’m feeling better about my puzzling self.

Greatly enjoyed!

Firmly planted at the ship’s bar (on the stool with my name imprinted on the back).

Got the grid, but the meta? I see the extra number clues among the grid clues, but have no idea how to use them ... yet. Enjoying the lovely cruising weather and the company at the bar. Hope we can all be on the shuttle to shore soon!

I picked a bad week to make my return. Stuck on the boat with Isaac. The grid started out hard, but when I figured out I was overthinking the answers, it came together quickly. The Dread Pirate Parentheses are most confusing right now... maybe after a cocktail (or a cup of tea) or two it will all fall into place.

On shore at last... little early for Guinness, but that's what I get for being late. Great meta.

Good Friday morning - what a struggle this is. I think with a little collaboration, I am rowing in the right direction but I think there is a strong offshore wind and a rip tide.

First a welcome to our newest muggle mpmanning

We have 14 on the ship and 26 on the shore.

WAY better than solving the META, but it does take longer....

Congratulations - now show her the GRID and let's get this child started on the right path! :)

Well Bob is the cruise director, but my Dad was a Boatswain's Mate:

Consider yourself piped aboard! But remember, newest crew member buys drinks on liberty and with this crowd of rowdies it could be a substantial sum!

On the ship and feeling the need to rePINE. My nemeSIS from just two weeks ago has returned! Really--numbers in parentheses. Again. Matt is definitely not the KINdred spirit of late. At this rate. I'll never get a mug but Isaac did engrave my name on one of the glasses at the bar.

At least I have a beautiful day to sit outside and stare at the grid.
