On shore for the first time in a few weeks (in any meta!). Was beginning to think I'd lost my mojo, so it's nice to have a gettable one now and then.

I'm on shore. It's nice to see WSJ continue the Halloween theme this week.

At first I was making it harder than it was.

Safely home... (note to self: trying to solve two different puzzles at the exact same time is not good for the brain). Guinness me please!

Yep. You get to thinking "was that word (or clue) in this puzzle or in another" when trying out various meta solving methods. Even doing 3-4 non-meta puzzles per day, you can second guess yourself as to whether or not you already used a certain word in the puzzle. And sometimes, you see similar clues and answers in multiple puzzles you have worked on that day - almost like the puzzle constructors are in sync and messing with solvers.

Ashore. What a treat!

Hope there wasn't a trick.

Loved a quick solve. On shore with all you witches and warlocks!
Happy to give nudges. If you notice I've solved, please tell me about avenues you've explored so I can nudge you in the right direction and not off a cliff.

Solved and on shore. Nice that WSJ followed up a really tough one with a not nearly as tough one.

I expect to receive about 1/2000th of a mug this week. Trickier grid than meta.

On the beach. A bit late today. Drinking a nice red. The cabana boy is at the party store looking for a costume.
