The photo shows a lineup of their milkshakes. I had the one third from right: strawberry ice cream, crushed vanilla wafers, and strawberry puree, topped with whipped cream, a vanilla Oreo, a sugar wafer, a Pepperidge Farm pirouette cookie and a strawberry slice. Now you know why I work out so hard.
Hmmm, I think I want the one immediately to the left of yours. And now you know why I "should" work out a lot....but don't

Time to post an update that I’m still AT SEA. I’m about to suggest to the others in the bar that we go play some shuffleboard. But really I’m hoping post-enlightenment will strike!
One can only hope.

This was an interesting 15-minute journey from "wait how am I not seeing what everybody saw, won't I get this till midnight?" to "oh that was way too easy huh damn".

Hi all - coming down to the wire and I’m not seeing anything. Would appreciate a nudge if anyone would be so kind.

ok, so i thought i was just not going to get this one at all... absolutely nothing came of all my attempts at finding something... spent an hour or so yesterday to no avail... sat down on the sofa tonight, picked up my paper puzzle, looked at it for two minutes trying hard not to fall down any more rabbit holes... and then, BINGO! it always amazes me when i think it's so incredibly tough and suddenly it becomes so incredibly easy...
an it harm none, do as thou wilt... :D :D :D

Barring a bolt of last minute lightning insight I'm going to stay on ship for this "oh-so-easy" one. Still got five hours but I've already had my first bourbon barrel aged beer, and those things are not PEDs.

As strange as this sounds I had “solved” this without seeing the answer. Thanks to some kind muggles who pointed out that it written down on my paper already. In any event, no submission for me this week, but I am on shore.

I've completed eight of the prior contest puzzles this weekend (from 2015). My record is 7 of 8.
Looking forward to doing more, but (and I didn't even know I could reach this point!) I'm puzzled out for now.
It's been fun, though!

A last minute hail mary worked: I was just explaining my latest (of many) ideas to my wife, when I saw that a minor adjustment would produce the correct answer, whew, that was not easy for me, but I'm finally on shore.

It will be there a few minutes after the puzzle is posted at the WSJ.
