So, yesterday was my birthday and all the festivities prevented me from getting to this until today. Puzzle no problem - meta is driving me absolutely insane. Help.

I finally made it to shore, with a big push.

I can say that I happily came back to shore without a push. While waiting on a shove for the MGWCC contest. That feels good, because I was kind of at sea on this one.

You’re almost certainly over thinking it.

Or did post enlightenment work?

Cutting it close, but on shore all the same. I made that a lot harder than it needed to be!

Okay. Worked on this for three days. Easy? I am not close to an answer. Found some ridiculous things but must be wrong based on comments here.

Wow! What a great community! The number of responses to my SOS is humbling. Clearly you all want everyone to succeed. I have had mixed results over the past few months. Sometimes getting the answers quickly. Other times totally lost. As others have said the most frustrating part is when people post that a puzzle is easy and you have no clue. This one for me! Got the answer but will sit this one out with Isaac.

Sending PM
NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!

Could also use a nudge. Solved the grid right away but can’t get the meta. Def overthinking it according to the thread... won’t submit. Thanks!

On shore - the first meta at WSJ I've been able to solve... (unless there's another twist I missed).
Pleased to join the crowd on the beach!
